(Chairman Liu Hanyuan gives an interview to the reporters during the fifth session of the 12th National Committee of the CPPCC in Beijing.)
At the the fifth session of the 12th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) held in March, Liu Hanyuan, a CPPCC member and Chairman of Tongwei Group offered suggestions on making respect and promotion of entrepreneurship a common sense in the whole society.
Liu pointed out that China’s economy has faced downward pressure in recent years. Under the circumstance, enterprises have also suffered from various kinds of stress, including market competition, environmental protection and so on. Despite this, most of enterprises still make a great contribution to the country’s economic development, with non-public economy accounting for over 60 percent of GDP and contributing more than 50 percent of total taxation.
However, the society has been not fully aware of the function of enterprises and efforts made by entrepreneurs, which is the driving force of social and economic development. We should make respecting and carrying forward entrepreneurship a common consensus in the society, according to Liu.
