Chairman of Tongwei Group Liu Hanyaun, also a member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, proposed again the implementation of photovoltaic (PV) technologies to realize targeted poverty alleviation during this year’s two sessions.
He said on March 7 that the Chinese authorities took a quick response to his proposal of having photovoltaic (PV) play an important part in targeted poverty alleviation tabled last year and launched pilot PV poverty alleviation projects nationwide.
Liu also noted that PV poverty alleviation projects not only protect local ecological environment, but also lay a solid foundation for realizing the coordinated development between eastern and western China.
He suggested that China should make efforts to support PV poverty alleviation in a bid to realize poverty reduction by using PV technology.
