BEIJING, March 12 (Xinhua) -- The government of China and Timor Leste recently signed an agreement on implementing an aid digital television project in Timor-Leste, according to Chinese Ministry of Commerce.
As a part of the assistance China provides to Timor-Leste, the project would play an important role in deepening the bilateral cooperation between the two countries, said the China’s ambassador to Timor-Leste Xiao Jianguo in the signing ceremony.
China’s government agreed to implement a pilot project of terrestrial digital television transmission system as a part of China’s assistance to the country.
The residents of Dili,the capital of the country, and more than 200,000 residents in the surrounding area could watch dozens of high-definition digital programs, including high-quality TV programs produced by China upon completion of the project.(Edited by Wang Tengfei)
