Around 300 companies are expected to attend the first joint German-Polish Economic Forum on March 18 in Berlin.
The Polish Minister for Entrepreneurship and Technology, Jadwiga Emilewicz, said on Wednesday in Warsaw that there were already 250 registrations, 150 of them from Polish companies. She will open the forum with Peter Altmaier, Germany's Minister of Economic Affairs, and will focus on digitalization, energy and e-mobility. The event is intended to give companies from both countries the opportunity to expand their cooperation.
According to the German-Polish Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Warsaw (AHK), German-Polish trade reached a new record level in 2017 with a volume of almost 111 billion euros. Poland consolidated its position as Germany's seventh most important trading partner. For Poland, on the other hand, Germany is by far the most important trading partner.
Polish officials note that there is an increasing interest among Polish investors in the German market. Emilewicz also wants to talk about facilitating market entry for Polish companies in Germany at the event.
