BEIJING, March 7 (Xinhua) -- A demonstration zone will be built at the junction of Shanghai Municipality, Jiangsu Province and Zhejiang Province in east China, in a bid to drive the higher-quality integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region, reported the Xinhua-run Shanghai Securities News on Thursday quoting Li Qiang, Party chief of Shanghai.
Li made the remarks on Wednesday during the panel discussions of the Shanghai delegation at the second session of the 13th National People's Congress.
Apart from the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta, the focuses of the panel discussions, the report said, also include constructing a new area for the Shanghai pilot free trade zone (FTZ) and setting up the science and technology innovation board with a pilot registration system at the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE).
According to Li, an overall plan regarding the construction of the Shanghai FTZ new area has already been drafted by Shanghai and China's Ministry of Commerce.
It is also noted that Shanghai will deepen it business environment reform in 2019 covering tax, cross-border trade, credit access, finance, telecommunications, Internet, culture, education, sanitation and other fields. (Edited by Gu Shanshan)
