BEIJING, March 1 (Xinhua) – China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has recently approved the construction of two dedicated channels for international Internet data transmission, Shanghai Securities News reported on Friday.
According to the report, the two dedicated channels were expected to realize the direct connection between enterprises’ local network and the international Internet portal, and at the same time, to a great extent, reduce the network congestion and waiting time for international Internet access.
It is estimated that after the completion of the dedicated channels, the delay and packet loss rate will be substantially reduced by about 30 percent and 50 percent, respectively. (Edited by Yang Yifan, yangyifan@xinhua.org)
