BEIJING, Feb. 22 (Xinhua) -- Chinese search engine and artificial intelligence (AI) giant Baidu earned 27.2 billion yuan of revenue in the fourth quarter of 2018, up 22 percent year on year, said the company on Friday.
Baidu's total revenue in 2018 reached 102.3 billion yuan, an increase of 28 percent year on year, while its net profit in the fourth quarter of 2018 was 2.1 billion yuan.
According to the forecast of Baidu, total net income in the first quarter of 2019 will be between 23.5 billion yuan and 24.7 billion yuan, representing 12 percent to 18 per cent year-on-year growth.
In terms of the AI, as of December 2018, more than 200 million DuerOS-equipped smart devices had been activated, 45 percent higher than November.
DuerOS Open Platform currently has about 27,000 third-party developers, providing more than 1,000 skills support including network radio, live video broadcasting.
In terms of automatic driving, up to now, Baidu has obtained more than 50 road test licenses for Intelligent Connected Vehicles (ICV), and more than 135 Apollo partners. Apollo has also reached strategic cooperation with FAW and Volvo to jointly produce commercial L4 cars. (Edited by Wang Tengfei)
