BEIJING, Feb. 22 (Xinhua) -- China's Tianjin plans to invest a total of 18 billion yuan in power grid construction and upgrades in 2019, with priority given to the city's first underground 220 kV substation project.
The substation, of which the construction has recently started, aims to improving the city's power supply capability, mainly to satisfy the large demand of the central city and the Tianjin Railway Station, according to the constructor State Grid Tianjin Electric Power Company, branch of China's top electricity supplier State Grid Corp.
In addition to the substation, the investment will also goes to the implementation of other power transmission and transformation projects of 35 kV and above, which will increase the city's power capacity by 11.8 million kVA and extend the transmission line by 1,735 km.
