BEIJING, Feb. 18 (Xinhua) -- Chinese provinces and cities, especially those in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and Yangtze River Delta region, have seen surging electricity charging by electric vehicles (EVs) during Spring Festive, according to a report by China Securities Journal on Monday.
Electricity charging pile market is at the eve of explosion, with new energy vehicle (NEV) ownership growth and recharge mileage increase poised to boost charging demand, according to industry insiders.
According to grid operator State Grid, 26 Chinese provinces under its operation realized some 15.099 million kwh of EV electricity charging or replacement during the Spring Festival period in 2019, up 154 percent as compared to the same period of 2018.
Figures also show that highways such as Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway, Shenyang-Haikou Expressway, Daqing-Guangzhou Highway, Beijing-Shanghai Expressway saw significant increase of speed charging of 17,200 times and 247,000 kwh per day during the Spring Festival, up 205 percent and 297 percent on year.
