TIANJIN, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- More than 2,000 new energy vehicles (NEVs) have been used in the field of postal services and the delivery industry in north China's Tianjin Municipality, said local authorities on Tuesday.
By the end of 2018, Tianjin's NEVs used in postal services and the delivery industry accounted for about one-sixth of China's NEVs used in the industries.
The municipality vigorously promotes vehicles powered by new energy and clean energy to reduce emission generated by the delivery industry, according to the city's postal management conference held Tuesday.
Tianjin postal and delivery enterprises have widely promoted the use of NEVs through purchasing, leasing and lending such vehicles, said Wang Dong, director of the Tianjin postal administration bureau.
Tianjin plans to further intensify the promotion and application of NEVs in the postal industry, and the total number of NEVs is expected to reach 2,500 in 2019, said Wang.
