BEIJING, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) -- China's technology giant Huawei Technologies will invest more than 100 billion U.S. dollars in research and development of 5G technology in the following five years, said Ren Zhengfei, founder of the company in a recent interview with Xinhua-run cnstock.com.
Huawei has obtained 30 5G contracts worldwide, and now it is the best producer in 5G technologies and hardware in the world, noted Ren.
Huawei's move boosted the enthusiasm of the investors for 5G. It is worth noting that more institutes have taken part in the research of 5G since the beginning of this year.
