Germany's economy slowed down in 2018, growing by 1.5 percent that year, according to official figures released on Tuesday.
It marks a significant drop on the previous two years, with growth measured at 2.2 percent in 2016 and 2017, the Federal Statistical Office, Destasis, said on releasing the preliminary data.
Despite the relatively sluggish performance, last year was the ninth consecutive year of economic growth for Europe's largest economy after it emerged from the 2009 global recession.
Destatis said that the economy was buoyed by consumer spending in 2018 as well as increased investment - but the growth engine of German exports appeared to weaken.
