Wind turbine manufacturer Nordex has been awarded the contract for a major project in the growth market of India. The Hamburg-based company is to build a turnkey wind farm with 100 turbines, the company announced in Hamburg on Tuesday. The total output will be 300 megawatts. Construction is scheduled to start in May 2019, and is to be completed by early 2020. The turbines and rotor blades are to be manufactured in an Indian Nordex plant. "Local production creates jobs and reduces investment costs," said Patxi Landa, Chief Sales Officer of the Nordex Group. India is one of the most important growth markets for wind turbine manufacturers.
