BEIJING, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) -- China's top legislature on Saturday adopted revisions to 17 laws, including the Product Quality Law and the Electric Power Law, to facilitate institutional reform and improve the government's service.
The revisions, originally submitted to the National People's Congress Standing Committee as one package, were approved in four batches at the closing session of its bimonthly session.
Many laws in the package were revised following the institutional reform launched earlier this year.
The package also covers revisions addressing the need to further streamline administration, enhance compliance oversight and provide better services, as well as expansion of trial reform of the social security system.
