BEIJING, Dec. 25 (Xinhua) -- Southwest China's Yunnan Province is expected to have invested more than 200 billion yuan in the comprehensive transportation construction in 2018, marking the highest among other provinces and regions in the country, reported Yunnan Daily.
in 2018, Yunnan Province has invested 188 billion yuan in highway and waterway transportation, 26 billion yuan in railway transportation, and 4 billion yuan in civil aviation.
The total mileage of highway in Yunnan is expected to reach 5,198 kilometers by the end of this year, with 82 counties accessing to highways and 125 to high-grade roads. More than 23,000 kilometers of rural roads were built or rehabilitated.
In terms of railway transportation, the total operation mileage reached 3,856 kilometers, among which 1,026 kilometers are high-speed railways. Nine cities at prefecture-level have access to railways and seven of them have access to high-speed rails.
15 airports for civil aviation have been built and operated in the province and the total flight routes have reached 429, of which 46 were newly launched this year.
In addition, the province's navigation mileage has hit 4,294 kilometers.
Yunnan will continue its highway construction, and 690 kilometers of highways will be open to traffic in the coming year, with 90 counties accessing to highways. (Edited by Wu Shuang, wushuang2018@xinhua.org)
