BEIJING, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- China Mobile Hubei Company Limited (Hubei Mobile) on Tuesday joined hands with other companies and institutes to form a 5G industry alliance in Wuhan, central China's Hubei Province.
The 5G industry alliance is aimed at promoting the 5G application in areas such as smart transportation, video entertainment, industrial energy, smart city, smart education, artificial intelligence and robotics, and smart medical treatment.
At present, the primary job of the industry alliance is to carry out information sharing, collaborative innovation, and application promotion among members of the alliance to accelerate the 5G R&D and application, said Fan Bingheng, president of the alliance and general manager of Hubei Mobile.
It is reported that in 2019, Hubei Mobile will invest 1 billion yuan to build 2,000 5G base stations. (Edited by Hu Pingchao, Zhang Haoran)
