BEIJING, Dec. 17 (Xinhua) -- Dalian Huarui Heavy Industry Group Co., Ltd. (DHHL, 002204. SZ) recently announced the successful roll-out of the world’s first and largest crankshaft for a 22,000 TEU container ship (W12X92 type), reported cnstock.com.
The W12X92 crankshaft adopts a docking structure with a total length of 23.519 meters and a weight of 488 tons, which has been developed for the first time in the world with no previous reference.
The achievement filled gaps in the world, making DHHL one of world’s leading companies with such super-large crankshaft production capacity.
The product is a key part of the two-stroke X-DF marine diesel engine developed by Winterthur Gas & Diesel Patent Company, and will be installed on the world’s leading 22,000 TEU container ship made in China for the first time, a major leap forward of China in high-tech shipbuilding.
