BEIJING, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- Chinese locomotive giant China Railway Group Limited (CRG) has been expanding its overseas presence since China's policy of reform and opening-up to the outside world.
In particular, after China initiated the "going global" strategy in 2001 and encouraged its enterprises to go global, the CRG has seized the opportunity to quicken its pace on a global scale.
As one of the first "going global" companies in China, CRG has set up business institutions in 83 countries by 2017, and is undertaking 493 overseas projects, with its overseas business income reaching 41.68 billion yuan and the total overseas assets exceeding 50 billion yuan.
CRG has acquired a large number of core technologies with independent intellectual property rights in fields such as high-speed railways and engineering construction.
Thanks to its innovation, the CRG has undertaken some eye-catching projects overseas. For example, the Moscow-Kazan high-speed rail project, which for the first time brought China's high-speed rail technology standard to Europe; the on-going Hungary-Serbia railway project, which is the first railway project carried out by Chinese enterprise in EU; the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail project, which for the first time brought the entire Chinese rail solution to the world; and the China-Laos Railway project, which is the first railway project that links Chinese railway network with neighboring country.
