YANGON, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- A photo exhibition has been underway here to mark the people-to-people ties over the five years since the Belt and Road Initiative was proposed by China in 2013.
Hosted by China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the China Cultural Center in Yangon, the exhibition was inaugurated on Wednesday.
Shi Ying, director of the China Cultural Center in Yangon, expressed her belief that mutual understanding and friendship between the people of Myanmar and China could be strengthened through the exhibition.
Scheduled to last until Dec. 16, the exhibition features 64 photos, portraying the images of art, cultural exchanges and cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.
The Belt and Road Initiative refers to the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, aiming at building a trade and infrastructure network connecting Asia with Europe and Africa along the ancient trade routes of Silk Road.
