BEIJING, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) – An integrated circuit (IC) design industrial park was officially opened in east China's Shanghai on Wednesday, attracting well-known companies such as GigaDevice (603986. SH), Will Semiconductor Co. Ltd.(603501.SH), Tsinghua Unigroup Ltd. and Alibaba (BABA. NYSE ) to settle in.
IC industry, the core foundation for new-generation information technology development, is an advantageous high-tech industry in Shanghai. In order to better serve the national strategy, the city will make IC an important representative for “Made in Shanghai”, said Li Qiang, secretary of Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China.
Currently, two national innovation centers concerning IC have already established in Shanghai, which are respectively the National IC Innovation Center and the National Intelligent Sensor Innovation Center. (Edited by Gu Shanshan)
