The industrial sector in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt invested less in 2017. Around 1.5 billion euros went into machines and facilities, properties and buildings, the Saxony-Anhalt Statistical Office announced on Wednesday - down 128 million euros or 7.8 per cent from the previous year.
The numbers take into account companies and corporations with 20 or more employees.
A total of 1.36 billion euros was spent on machines and facilities - a decrease of 3 per cent - while investments in properties and buildings fell by 28 per cent to 144 million euros.
