BEIJING, Nov. 8 (Xinhua) -- China and Malta signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the joint promotion of Belt and Road construction, according to the website of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC).
Under the MoU, China and Malta agreed to strengthen pragmatic cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, in order to realize common development and prosperity of the two countries, thus promoting the building of a community with shared future for mankind.
Last year, the volume of bilateral trade between China and Malta increased by 31.4 percent year on year, and Chinese companies such as Shanghai Electric Power Co., Ltd. and Huawei Technologies are steadily pushing forward cooperation and operation in Malta.
