BEIJING, Nov.1 (Xinhua) -- Germany SMA Solar Technology AG (SMA) recently signed a cooperative agreement of intent with China's automaker BYD (BYD) to jointly explore the U.S. and African markets, Xinhua-run cn.stock.com reported on Wednesday.
Cooperation is expected to expand from existing Europe and Asia Pacific regions to the U.S. and African markets in the fields of solar power storage and sales, according to an announcement by SMA Solar.
It is noted that the cooperation between SMA and BYD has started since 2015, including inverter and battery products.
As a world's leading inverter supplier, SMA was founded in 1981 in Kassel city in Germany, while BYD, based in Shenzhen in south China's Guangdong province, mainly conducts business in areas of battery, conventional fuel vehicles and new energy vehicles. (Edited by Jiang Feifan, Niu Huizhe)
