BEIJING, Nov. 1 (Xinhua) -- A new China-Europe freight train line was launched on Tuesday, linking northwest China's Xi'an City with Riga, capital city of Latvia.
It is the 11th international train route starting from Xi'an since 2013, also marking that the China-Europe freight trains starting from Shaanxi Province this year have made over 1,000 trips for the first time.
As of October 30, the China-Europe freight trains linking Xi'an, capital city of Shaanxi Province, and other European cities had made 1,030 trips and transported about 1.05 million metric tons (tonnes) of goods mainly covering raw materials, machinery and equipment, building materials, industrial spare parts, food, and light industrial products.
