SHANGHAI, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) -- Shanghai is going to start construction on a rail link between Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport and Shanghai Pudong International Airport within this year, said Shanghai Mayor Ying Yong at the press conference for the International Business Leader’ Advisory Council for the Mayor of Shanghai on Saturday.
Ying said that the construction of a fast connecting rail between Hongqiao Airport and Pudong Airport will enable the two airports function more effectively as transportation hub in the Yangtze River Delta area and provide better service for the passengers of the two airports and travel of the citizens.
It's learned that the total length of the rail transit between the two airports of Hongqiao and Pudong is 68 kilometers. The planning of the project had been published, and the public notice period has already ended.
