BEIJING, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- Qualified foreign institutional investors (QFIIs) have increased participation in A-shares amid the recent stock market corrections, sending a positive signal to the market.
According to statistics from Choice info of Eastmoney, a total of 57 A-share listed companies received QFII research in September, while the average monthly number was 40 in the first half of this year.
QFIIs have obviously accelerated its pace of entering the market since the beginning of this year. QFIIs opened 26 accounts in March, and 52 in the first quarter of this year, almost equivalent to the amount in the second half of last year.
In addition, QFIIs held a total of 5.63 billion shares in the second quarter of this year, an increase of 1.15 billion shares or 25.67 percent quarter on quarter, a large buy-in when the market dropped in the second quarter.
By the end of September, the CSRC has approved a total of 286 QFIIs with investment quota amounting to about 100.16 billion U.S. dollars. (Edited by Wu Shuang, wushuang2018@xinhua.org)
