BEIJING, Oct.18 (Xinhua) -- China-Europe freight trains from Chengdu in southwest China’s Sichuan province have made 1,000 trips until October 16 in 2018, ranking the first again among the total freight train trips in China, yidaiyilu.gov.cn reported on Tuesday.
It is noted that Chengdu’s 1000th China-Europe freight train of this year, the W439X8062 from Chengdu Qingbaijiang to Lodz, Poland, have departed on October 16, loading cargoes including Liquid Crystal Display (LCD), TV board, engine, generator parts, LED light, humidifier, plastic toys, and shoes, with total value of 5.27 million U.S. dollars.
China-Europe freight trains from Chengdu have made accumulative 2,497 trips in the past five and a half years, accounting about a quarter of the total freight train trips in China, while the average daily round trip exceeding three trips from previous one for a week.
The accumulative freight volume of the trains from Chengdu also saw fast growth, totaling 360,000 tonnes by October 16 of 2018, compared with 730,000 of past years, official data showed.
The transport network of such trains has bridged 20 overseas cities in Asia and Europe, and it is expected to reach other European cities including Bremen and Budapest. (Edited by Jiang Feifan, Niu Huizhe)
