At the start of next year, the diggers will roll in for the largest expansion to date of the BMW plant in Eisenach. The planning and preparatory work is currently underway for the project, which would see the Munich-based carmaker expand its Thuringia plant into the world's largest tool making site. "We are on schedule with the project. There will be no delays," company spokesman Jochen Müller said in response to a query. The company plans to invest 42 million euros by 2022. At present, 260 people work at the plant, which produces pressing tools for carbody manufacturing.
