BEIJING, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- China's tech giant Tencent (00700.HK) on Sunday officially announced to launch a new round of overall strategic upgrade.
Based on connecting people, connecting digital content and connecting services, Tencent will further explore the integration of social contact, content and technology that is more suitable for future trends, and promote the upgrading from the consumer Internet to the industry Internet, according to the announcement.
Along with the strategic upgrade, Tencent also adjusted its organizational structure and cut the previous seven business groups to six.
Meanwhile, Tencent said that it will also continue to invest in the future frontier basic science, and increase investment in AI laboratories, robotics laboratories and quantum laboratories. (Edited by Hu Pingchao, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
