German business confidence fell slightly in September compared to the previous month, according to a closely watched survey.
The monthly index by the Munich-based Institute for Economic Research (ifo) think tank, released on Monday, put business confidence at 103.7 points, down by 0.2 points.
Analysts had expected a larger fall.
"The German economy is showing itself to be stable, even if uncertainty is growing," ifo boss Clemens Fuest said.
