RIO DE JANEIRO, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- To promote economic information cooperation between Chinese and Brazilian media, a delegation from Xinhua News Agency of China visited Brazil's INFOGLOBO on September 24 and the two sides discussed news cooperation in depth.

The delegation of Xinhua was led by Zhang Yongping, general manager of Xinhua News Agency's marketing management office and Liu Mingxia, vice president of China Economic Information Service (CEIS) under Xinhua.

China and Brazil are both important emerging markets and BRICS members and the two countries have been deepening cooperation in trade and investment, which has increased people's demand for fresh news from the other side. The cooperation between Xinhua and INFOGLOBO will help promote mutual understanding of the two countries, said Zhang Yongping.

Frederic Zoghaib Kachar, president of INFOGLOBO, said that Brazilian readers are particularly interested in information about China’s politics, economy, culture, tourism etc., and Xinhua will supply more news and information to Brazil.

Liu Mingxia introduced major economic information products and services of Xinhua, including Xinhua Finance, Xinhua Silkroad, Xinhua Credit, Xinhua Think-tank and Xinhua Indices.

Liu also introduced the Belt & Road Economic Information Partnership initiated by Xinhua and invited INFOGLOBO to join the partnership.

The Brazilian side expressed its willingness to join the Belt & Road Economic Information Partnership and expectation to jointly hold the BRICS Media Forum with Xinhua.

During the meeting, Xinhua and INFOGLOBO signed a news and information products swap agreement.
