BEIJING, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- Beijing’s commercial house sales stood at 3.542 million square meters in the first eight months of 2018, dropping 32.8 percent from a year ago, according to data released by Beijing Municipal Bureau of Statistics on Monday.
Among total commercial house sales, residential house sales were 2.663 million square meters, 22.7 percent lower than the previous year.
From January to August, 12.008 million square meters of commercial houses started construction, declining 3.7 percent from the year earlier period; while 6.577 million square meters of residential housing started construction, up 18.3 percent on year.
During the same period of time, property developers in Beijing put 318.61 billion yuan of investment in place, 22.7 percent less than last year, said the bureau.
