China to raise export tax rebates for electromechanical and cultural products as from Sept. 15 -- China will raise the export tax rebates for products such as electromechanical and cultural products as from September 15, according to announcement jointly released by China's Ministry of Finance and the State Administration of Taxation. The tax rebates for multi-component integrated circuits, non-electromagnetic interference filters, books and newspapers will be increased to 16 percent, while the tax rebates for bamboo carving products and wooden fans will be raised to 13 percent, and those for basalt fiber and safety pins will be raised to 9 percent, according to the announcement.

Shanghai rolls out measures to attract more international visitors -- Shanghai, a global financial hub, has rolled out 30 measures to upgrade its international reputation as a tourist destination, according to a municipal government press conference on September 6. To make Shanghai more attractive, the municipal government proposed to beautify urban landscape, improve tourist facilities, make the Huangpu River tour a flagship tourism project, and allow visitors to scan QR codes to better understand the city's history and culture at more attractions. Other measures include developing village, cruise, and medical tourism, creating a more friendly environment for investors, and improving tourist complaint services. According to the plan, Shanghai is expected to see around 10 million inbound trips made by overseas tourists in 2020 and the figure will rise to 14 million in 2035.

China Henan unveils standardization action plan to facilitate B&R construction -- Central China's Henan Province lately unveiled a standardization action plan for 2018-2020 to facilitate the country's Belt and Road construction. Henan aims to achieve standardized and internationalized work pattern by 2020 to better participate in the country's Belt and Road construction, the action plan shows. Henan province vows to push forward standardization in international capacity cooperation and equipment manufacturing to further advance real economy development.
