BEIJING, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) -- China Mobile (CHL.NYSE; 00941.HK), one of China's telecom giants, has already set up 14 open laboratories and 3 research institutions in the vertical fields in order to conduct 5G researches centering around telematics, Industrial Internet of Things and construction of smart cities, said the company's chairman Shang Bing.
According to Shang, there has been no way to accurately estimate the total investment in 5G at present. However, China Mobile will try to keep its competitive edge in 5G field and make precise calculation in the future. (Edited by Zhang Yuan, zhangyuan11@xinhua.org)
