BEIJING, July 30 (Xinhua) -- Uzbekistan has begun to modernize three domestic hydropower stations, using preferential export buyer’s credit granted by the Chinese government, according to media in Uzbekistan.
Uzbekistan planned to reconstruct Shahrihan hydropower station, Tashkent hydropower station and Lower Boz-Sui hydropower station. Total investment is estimated at 74 million U.S. dollars, including 63 million U.S. dollars loaned from China.
After the reconstruction, the installed capacity of three hydropower stations is expected to double, and the power output will be increased at least by three times, according to the Uzbekistan water resources corporation. (Edited by Yang Bize)
