BEIJING, July 25 (Xinhua) -- The Xiamen-Budapest direct freight train line has entered into formal operation, according to a release by Xiamen Haicang Investment Group.
Operated by Xiamen International Railway Service Co., Ltd under Haicang Investment Group, the Xiamen-Budapest rail line is another direct line linking Europe after previous lines connecting Lodz, Hamburg, Duisburg and Moscow.
Compared with the Xiamen-Xi'an-Budapest route that was put into trial operation this January, the direct line skips inter-city transfer which could save two to three days.
