BEIJING, July 19 (Xinhua) -- The Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) will hold a conference on global health, with the focus on Internet-assisted healthcare, a senior forum official said Wednesday.
BFA Secretary General Li Baodong said the conference would be held in January 2019 and aimed to build a platform for government-business cooperation in health-care to deal with global health challenges and promote technological transformation.
Conference chairperson Margaret Chan Fung Fu-chun, former director general of the WHO, said lectures and discussions would be held on topics like universal healthcare, innovation-driven medical services, technology application, medicines promotion, and entrepreneurship.
She said with burgeoning development of new ideas and models such as "shared healthcare" and "intelligent healthcare," China's promotion of Internet plus healthcare offered a chance to develop the domestic health sector and foster international cooperation.
