The Association of Saxon Businesses (VSW) based in Dresden, Germany, has called for more technology transfers into companies. “We need more research findings that can be used in Saxony-based companies and ensure innovation is increased above all among small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs),” said President Jörg Brückner in Chemnitz. This is the fundamental basis for future prosperity, he added.
For that reason, research institutions that reliably cooperate with companies should be supported by the state in particular. At the same time, it’s important to invest in institutions’ cooperations with local companies on the ground. “Companies know best which ideas and technologies contain the potential for innovation and thus opportunities for the future."
