BEIJING, July 12 (Xinhua) -- Data showed that China’s auto market expanded steadily in the first half of 2018 with 14.0665 million sold in the country and 14.0577 million produced during the period, up 5.57 percent and 4.15 percent year on year, respectively.
Sales of passenger cars reached 11.7753 million units. Commercial vehicle sales stood at 2.2911 million units during the period, according to data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).
Particularly, China’s new energy vehicle (NEV) sector continued to see substantial expansion in the first six months, with sales reaching 412,000 units and production amounting to 413,000 units, up 111.5 percent and 94.9 percent, year on year, respectively.
