BEIJING, July 11 (Xinhua) -- Henan Provincial Government and the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) recently unveiled a plan for the construction of Zhengzhou international air cargo hub, according to the report by the Xinhua-run cnstock.com.
Under the plan, Zhengzhou airport will become a global air cargo (integrated) hub, with air cargo and passenger throughput ranking the top positions across the world. It will form a system of four-hour airport freight transportation covering the whole country and 20-hour covering the world.
By 2025, Zhengzhou airport is expected to see its annual cargo throughput capacity exceed 3 million metric tons (tonnes) and annual passenger throughput reach 53 million person-times. By 2035, the two figures are expected to become 5 million tonnes and 100 million person-times, respectively. (Edited by Hu Pingchao, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
