BEIJING, July 5 (Xinhua) -- Chengdu Qingbaijiang district and the logistics and shipping division of China Merchants Group inked a strategic cooperation deal on July 3 to invest 10 billion yuan to build an international multimodal transport and trade logistics center in Qingbaijiang district, Chengdu.
Construction on the project is expected to commence in 2019, according to a senior manager with the China Merchants Group.
The two sides will cooperate on building a railway port supporting commercial and trade logistics park in Qingbaijiang district, advancing the development of international freight trains with China-Europe freight trains (Chengdu) as the core, while expand domestic multimodal transport cooperation, promote the integrated development of transport and trade, and push forward financial innovation in the free trade zone, according to the agreement.
