BEIJING -- China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) hit a record high in its offshore oil and gas equity output in 2016, reaching 76.01 million tonnes of oil and gas equivalents, up 5.5 percent year on year, of which the output of crude oil and natural gas stood at 87.52 million metric tons and 23.2 billion cubic meters respectively. Meanwhile, the newly-added oil and gas recoverable reserve at overseas completed 160 percent of the expected exploitation.
