German football club VfB Stuttgart wants to expand further economically following their resurgence over the past year and a successful season in the German professional football league, the Bundesliga. To this end, the club plans to promote the internationalization of the VfB brand on the Chinese market in particular.
“We are trying to establish ourselves in China and leave behind a footprint there,” said VfB Marking Executive Jochen Röttgermann Tuesday. The prominence of VfB investor Daimler AG should help in their step towards East Asia.
“We are striving to launch a few lighthouse projects there,” explained Röttgermann. “We are going to start with football camps.” The club furthermore wants to be present on the Chinese social network Weibo and cooperate later on with advertising partners from the People’s Republic.
German Bundesliga football club Borussia Mönchengladbach is opening an office in the Chinese economic hotspot of Shanghai. The five-time champion of the German Bundesliga football league wants to help educate trainers and further the sport’s internationalisation, the club said in response to an inquiry from German newswire dpa.
Accordingly, the club’s goal in particular is to make the Borussia Mönchengladbach brand better known in the world’s most populous country.
