BEIJING, June 29 (Xinhua) -- Trade value between China and Africa reached 81.97 billion U.S. dollars in the first five months of 2018, up 17.7 percent year on year and 0.9 percentage points higher than the general increase of foreign trade during the same period, according to statistics by China Customs.
During January-May, Chinese exports to Africa increased 8.4 percent year on year to 41.18 billion U.S. dollars, while imports gained 28.9 percent to 40.79 billion .S. dollars.
In May, the import and export value of China-Africa trade amounted to 18.34 billion U.S. dollars, up 10.3 percent year on year and 12.1 percent month on month. Among these, China’s exports to Africa reached 9.53 billion U.S. dollars, up 1.4 percent year on year, while China’s imports from Africa rose 21.9 percent to 8.81 billion U.S. dollars.
