BEIJING, June 22 (Xinhua) -- China has noticed that the unilateral measures of the United States to increase tariffs have drawn strong concern domestically, with an increasing number of opponents, a Ministry of Commerce spokesman said Thursday.
"China hopes the United States can take seriously the voices of all parties and get back to the right track," Gao Feng said at a press conference.
Gao said the U.S. moves that contradicted themselves in word and deed not only disappointed China and the international community, but also had drawn strong opposition within the United States.
"U.S. unilateral and protectionist practices will ultimately hurt the interests of U.S. businesses, workers and farmers, undermine the world's economic well-being, and lead to even stronger opposition," he said.
