BEIJING, June 20 (Xinhua) -- Located in the northern part of Surkhandarya Province in Uzbekistan, adjacent to the border between Tajikistan and Afghanistan, the Shargun mine’s annual exploitation of hard coal reached 160,000 metric tons (tonnes) per year, and the upgraded production capacity will increase to 900,000 tonnes per year, according to yidaiyilu.gov.cn.
The project uses the Chinese government’s preferential export buyer’s credit, which is contracted by the Export-Import Bank of China. The total cost of the EPC contract is 94.5 million U.S. dollars and the construction period is 38 months. (Edited by Ma Xin, maxin11@xinhua.org)
