BEIJING, June 20 (Xinhua) -- China’s Hebei province saw its foreign trade with the countries along the Belt and Road routes total 40.31 billion yuan in the first five months of the year, up 6 percent year on year, accounting for 28.8 percent of the city's total foreign trade during the period, according to the local customs.
To be specific, its exports to the Belt and Road countries amounted to 32.48 billion yuan during the period, an increase of 1 percent year on year, while its imports from those countries stood at 7.83 billion yuan, an increase of 33.4 percent year on year.
Russia has become Hebei province’s most important foreign trade market. From January to May this year, Hebei's trade with Russia amounted to 7.18 billion yuan, an increase of 1.4 percent year on year, followed by India and UAE(United Arab Emirates). Hebei's trade with India and UAE amounted to 5.25 billion yuan and 3.36 billion yuan respectively, an increase of 11.9 percent and 72.7 percent year on year. (Edited by Ma Xin, maxin11@xinhua.org)
