KIEV, June 20 (Xinhua) -- The Ukrainian capital is willing to deepen its cooperation with the eastern Chinese city of Shanghai, a Kiev official said Tuesday.
Shanghai is an important strategic parter of Kiev, Dmytro Davtyan, deputy chairman of Kiev city state administration, said after a meeting with a delegation from China led by Xu Kunlin, deputy mayor of Shanghai, according to Ukrainian state-run Ukrinform news agency.
Davtyan said the Ukrainian capital is interested in developing the partnership with Shanghai in the sectors of infrastructure, technologies and tourism.
"I consider China in general and Shanghai in particular as extremely important strategic partners for Kiev," Davtyan said.
According to him, a delegation from Kiev plans to pay a working visit to Shanghai in the near future to push forward cooperation, and the representatives of the Ukrainian capital will also attend the China International Import Expo (CIIE) due in November in Shanghai.
