China Price・Grain Purchasing Price Index
Since 2004, Price Monitoring Center of the National Development and Reform Commission has calculated the monthly and quarterly grain purchasing price indexes with the Laspeyres formula by taking the grain price in 110 designated cities and counties across the country as the data basis, and weighing the regional production data of various main grain varieties. The index includes the total grain purchase price index and indexes of rice, wheat, and corn, and 7 varieties of early indica rice, late indica rice, japonica rice, white wheat, red wheat, mixed wheat, and corn. Viewing from years of practice, the Grain Purchasing Price Index issued by the Price Monitoring Center of National Development and Reform Commission can accurately reflect the general trend of grain purchase price and the price trend of specific grain varieties, and has become an important comprehensive index of the national raw grain market price. The index has been valued by National Development and Reform Commission and other relevant departments, providing a reference for the regulation and decision-making of the grain market.
