Shandong is also the second largest coastal port province of China. In 2016, the cargo throughput at Shandong’s major coastal ports accounted for 17.6 percent of the country’s total. Shandong is the largest exporter of vegetables, fruits, and aquatic products in the country. Its exports of agricultural products make up nearly one-fourth of China’s total agricultural exports.
